Tina St. Claire & Dereck Seltzer
Dereck Seltzer is a Los Angeles based Artist. He was born in the Netherlands in 1985 and brought to the United States at the age of two. He attended Otis College of Art & Design with a focus on painting and printmaking, but was unable to afford his tuition and stopped short of graduating. He met Tina St. Claire in 2011, proposed to her, and remained her romantic and creative partner for the rest of her life. He continues to work and live in Los Angeles, with a primary focus on continuing to reach the goal’s he and St. Claire set forth during their creative partnership. Tina St. Claire was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1984. Entirely self taught, she quickly became one of the city’s most unique and carefully watched artists. Her work, which balances elements of portraiture, abstraction, design and screen printing, focused on the theme of female empowerment. She passed away on March 9th, 2016 at the age of 31 from an advanced form of cancer, Glioblastoma Multiforme. Her work and legacy continue to inspire thousands around the world.
