I love Los Angeles. When I think about Los Angeles, I think about this quote from Cameron Esposito:
The thing that makes this city great is how logical a backbone it provides to completely illogical pursuits.
I couldn’t agree more. To further our admiration for this city, and to further build conversation around topics that add to the fundamental fabric of this city’s wellbeing, we are introducing Pierside, a twice-a-year anthology bringing readers contemporary conversations on LA. The journal will include poetry, prose, and interviews discussing topics pertinent to the city. The first issue is slated to come out summer 2019, and we are opening submissions to writers based in the greater Los Angeles area to send in their work for consideration. Accepted submissions are provided an honorarium, and we’ll be hosting reading events around the anthology. Click here to find the submissions portal & guidelines.
We just landed in Portland, OR. We’ll be setting up our booth tomorrow, and we’re thrilled to see all of y’all who are attending AWP this year. We have an off-site event on the 28th which you can find tickets for here. Otherwise, come visit us at booth 7001.
