What’s up, blog ether.
Here’s some stuff.
Branches edition number two
We’re re-releasing Rhiannon McGavin’s first full-length poetry book, Branches. What’s cool about this is that Rhiannon gets to revisit work from the early-early stages of her career and provide it fresh context in her contemporary canon. Plus, we get to make a delightful new cover for it. McGavin is a poet who works very hard in several arenas of her life, and the level of intention she displays in her day to day activities are revelatory in the caliber of poetry present in Branches.
The book release will be at Art Share LA on April 11. Accompanying readers are Mila Cuda, Tamia Romo, and Alyesha Wise. The show begins at 8pm. It’ll be great. Also, you can pre-order the book here.
The LA Times Festival of Books
This is one of my favorite things, and we’re here for our second year at booth 075. We’ll have a lot of material on our forthcoming fall catalog, including some beautiful bookmarks featuring the cover work of the upcoming titles. We’re setting up an offsite event that’ll be slated for the book fair weekend.
The Spoken Literature Art Movement workshop began its fourth cycle on March 2, and will be continuing every Saturday for twelve Saturdays. This workshop series has played a formative role in many emerging talents in the LA area, and I’m thrilled to see how it has grown. You can find out more about our workshop programs here.
Alright that’s all I’ve got, thanks for reading.
